Is there anything better than a plant sale?

How about a great plant sale?

Sponsored by The WA Horticultural Council, the annual Garden Clubs & Societies Plant Fair brings together various horticultural clubs and societies showcasing a stunning variety of plants all under one roof – over two day – at the South Perth Community Centre – this September 7 and 8.

Imagine being able to come along to one air-conditioned venue and have all your plant and gardening questions answered by the people who know their plants best and can offer suggestions on how they fit into a water wise and colourful garden.

“Spring is the perfect time to refresh your garden with new and interesting plants,” says Jillian Plester, from the Garden Clubs & Societies Sub Committee. “Our Fair is a one-stop destination for all your gardening needs, whether you’re looking for vibrant blooms, hardy succulents, or unusual ferns and palms. Plus, you’ll get the chance to learn directly from the experts who cultivate these beautiful plants.”

Now in its sixteenth year, the Fair will feature a large variety of plants on display and for sale by members of the WA Horticultural Council, the umbrella organisation representing amateur horticulture in Western Australia.

This year’s participants include:

■African Violet Society ■ Cactus & Succulent Society of WA

■ Cymbidium Orchid Club of WA ■ Gardeners’ Circle WA

■ Geranium & Pelargonium Society ■ Palm & Cycad Society ■ Perth Heritage Roses ■ Rose Society of WA

■South Eastern Orchid Society ■ WA Bromeliad Society

■WA Chrysanthemum Society ■ WA Fern Society ■ WA Gerbera Society .

If you plan to take home some of these beautiful plants, please remember to bring cash, as some smaller groups may not have EFTPOS facilities.

Admission is just $5 for adults, and children under 16 can enter for free, making it an affordable day out for the whole family.

And for anyone who would just like to sit back and soak in the floral beauty, the kitchen will be serving delicious homemade treats for morning and afternoon teas, along with light lunches.

Spring is an ideal time to introduce interesting plants into your garden. If you’re looking for something new to spruce up your garden, don’t miss the opportunities offered by this unique plant sale!
