Saveful September fights food waste

With the cost-of-living crisis impacting 80 per cent of Australian families, many are feeling the pinch and looking for ways to save.

Saveful September is set to empower and enable Australians to save money, save food and save time. By demonstrating simple ways to save food, people can maintain their health and lifestyle while helping to ease financial burdens.

Saveful brings together industry leaders to support Aussie families. Collaborating with Saveful ambassador and partner Matt Moran and founding partners such as BEGA, Nestle, Birds Eye, Goodman Fielder, Rabobank, and Qantas, Saveful is also excited to welcome new partners including SunRice, Gumtree, Good & Fugly, SPC, Gander, Chief Nutrition, Yume Foods and industry supporters the Compass Group and OzHarvest Use It Up. Together, from farmgate to dinner plate, this network is taking action to tackle food waste across the supply chain.

The need for action and tangible and practical solutions is greater than ever. Saveful is a FREE app that empowers and enables people to save money by saving food.

Saveful September coincides with the International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste on September 29. The campaign emphasises that the easiest way to save money and time, without compromising health or lifestyle, is by saving food. Small changes in household habits can have significant impacts, benefiting both household budgets and the planet.

Kim McDonnell CEO and Founder of Saveful said they are dedicated to helping Australians put more food on their tables through healthy and sustainable choices.

“We are incredibly proud of the app that is using innovative technology to provide families with practical and tangible solutions to save money, food and time. We are proud to collaborate with numerous brands – both local and global, and industry supporters who share our commitment to supporting Aussie families,” said Ms McDonnell.

“Saveful September is a crucial initiative as we approach the festive season, a peak time for food waste and financial stress for many families. Saveful empowers people to make more conscious food choices, reducing waste, saving money, and saving time,”
