Fremantle Ports is seeking volunteers…

Volunteers

Fremantle Ports is seeking people who have an interest in the Port of Fremantle and would like to join a community volunteering program.

Corporate and Community Relations Manager Neil Stanbury said Fremantle Ports was inviting expressions of interest from people of all ages who had a connection or affinity with the Port of Fremantle so that they could share their knowledge and passion with the public.

“We want to assemble a great team of volunteers to extend our outreach programs, engage with the community and contribute to specialist projects,” he said.

“We’ll provide training so that the Friends of Fremantle Ports volunteers can learn more about Fremantle’s busy working port and its operations.

“The Friends program will provide a suite of in-house training to help volunteers achieve their personal goals and maximise their contribution to the Fremantle community.

“We view the Friends program as a great opportunity to not only share the port’s history with the public, but also as a chance to help volunteers develop important skills like event management and public speaking.

“For example, Friends volunteers would help conduct information walks for members of the public along Victoria Quay.

“We have exciting stories to tell and great programs that allow volunteers to be part of something truly unique and important to Fremantle.”

To register your interest, visit the Fremantle Ports website and fill out the online EOI form.

Provide some brief information on your interest in the port, special skills and attributes, and how you can contribute to the program, which will start later this year.
