Having an aged care plan in place for partners, parents and carers is vital. However, the Australian aged care system is complicated by waiting lists and a lot of paperwork making the task daunting.
As a community service, leading non-profit aged care provider, Baptistcare, will host a free community information session for residents in the Baldivis and Rockingham areas on Wednesday 5 June 2019.
Finding the right support options can be lengthy and time consuming, requiring referrals and assessments with multiple organisations and multiple people, so it is never too soon to begin looking at the options best suited to your situation.
Many seniors are reluctant to ask for help and it is often the responsibility of family members to try and source the appropriate services.
The obligation free seminar is designed to demystify the aged care system and is relevant for seniors, carers and family members seeking the right information to guide them through the complex and often confusing system of waiting lists, assessments and fee structures.
The information session will cover everything from accessing funding options, finding the right residential facility or at home services through to filling in the paperwork, waiting times and different levels of care.
The session will take place on Wednesday 5 June between 10am and 11.30am at the Mary Davies Library and Community Centre, 17 Settlers Avenue, Baldivis. You can RSVP to secure a place by going to https://www.baptistcare.com.au/news/events/demystifying-aged-care/
