Become a Raise volunteer mentor and make a real difference in a young person’s life. For young people, being heard, valued and supported by a trusted adult is so important. Gifting your time and attention will make all the difference.
With industry-leading, accredited training and full supervision from a highly qualified Program Counsellor, Raise will ensure you have all the skills to mentor a young person.
According to Mission Australia’s 2023 Youth Survey, 52 per cent of WA young people have school related challenges, 24 per cent have mental health troubles and 20 per cent have challenges in their relationships. WA teachers report poor mental health of their students is creating additional stress and disengagement from studies.
Hear directly from real WA mentors:
Candice, Mentor at Coastal Lakes school in Mandurah: “I find it very rewarding… it’s certainly beneficial to the children and it’s a great network to be involved with.”
Trent, WA mentor: “I felt it was a good way to give back. Raise is a great resource.. it lets them blossom in their own way.”
Deb, Rockingham mentor: “I can see the struggles this generation has. With Raise I find that they are a great resource in order to give them the tools for confidence as well as connections.”
Teenagers are struggling and Raise youth mentoring programs offer a solution. Raise provides trained and trusted mentors to 13-15 year olds in school. Raise mentors show up every week to listen and guide students helping them find solutions in crisis.
Are you available each week for two hours to mentor a student at your local high school?
Why not take the leap, grab this challenge and add new skills and experiences to your own life!
